Clearing your computers history.

Although it is not  possible to totally clear your history, it will remain on your hard drive but will be extremely difficult to access,  there are ways in which you can reduce the possibility of people knowing where you have been on the Internet.

You can delete individual pages and sites from your history on Internet Explorer.

To do this firstly open up Internet Explorer, this is the program on which you view the Internet. On the tool bar you will find the History icon, click on this and a side window will open showing you Today and the previous days and weeks. Each day will have a folder which contains the computer's history for that day or week. Right click on the folder you want and click delete. This will look more normal than deleting the complete Internet Explorer History.

If you do want to delete the complete history of Internet Explorer the following steps will do this for you.

Click on the Tools button on the Internet Explorer tool bar.

  1. Highlight and click on Internet Options at the bottom of the Tools menu. The following dialogue box will appear:

2. Select the General tab.
3. Within the Temporary Internet Files section, click Delete Files button.
4. The following dialogue box will appear asking if you wish to continue with the action.
5. Click OK to delete all files in the Temporary Internet Files.
This may take a little while if there are a few files to delete.

6. Within the History section, click Clear History button.
7. Click Yes, you want Windows to delete your history of visited sites.

8. Click the OK button to exit the window.
